Purvis Takes Louisville Off List Altogether

Aug 31, 2011 8:00 PM

Rodney Purvis has eliminated Louisville altogether from his list of school he's considering just a few months after he pulled his verbal commitment from the school.

Purvis is now considering Connecticut, Memphis, Missouri, N.C. Central, N.C. State, Ohio State, Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia.

Purvis is one of the top shooting guards in the country.

“Instead of rushing into another decision,” Purvis said. “I get to sit down and talk with the coaches more. Gain relationships with every coach on the staff. Just get a good feel for the campuses ... and see what fits my style of play the best.”

Mother Of Gary Harris Played In WNBA

Aug 17, 2011 10:34 AM

Gary Harris is one of the top incoming recruits for the class of 2012.

His mother Joy was a former All-American at Purdue who played in the WNBA. She also worked as an assistant coach at Middle Tennessee State, Cincinnati and IUPUI after her playing career.

Harris is considering Indiana, Michigan State, Purdue, Louisville and Notre Dame.

Harris has more than 4,500 followers on Twitter and is constantly asked which school he will choose, something his parents actively help with.

"There are a lot of people out there who are noticing what I say," said Harris. "My parents have done a good job monitoring me and telling me to watch what I post."

There are also a lot of rumors about his decision that are baseless.

"Most of it's not worth diffusing," Joy said. "The people putting that stuff out there . . . we don't know them. I heard once that he was going to Purdue because I had a Purdue shirt on; never mind that I graduated from Purdue. Another time I heard I was seen in an IU shirt because Gary begged me to wear one. I'm not sure where the stuff comes from."

Archie Goodwin Cuts Florida, Louisville From List

Aug 13, 2011 12:04 PM

Archie Goodwin has cut his list of school from 10 to eight.

“I cut Florida [and] Louisville, and Missouri is still in there, so you could say it’s eight,” Goodwin, who scored a game-high 23 points Sunday to help Team USA Midwest win the Nike Global Challenge, said Friday afternoon. “I basically just cut Florida and Louisville.”

Goodwin is now considering Arkansas, Baylor, Georgetown, Kentucky, Kansas, Memphis, Missouri and Connecticut.

Goodwin said he will not base his decision based on what others do.

“I’m not going to commit after anybody,” he said.

He added: “It just depends on if those guys are followers are not, or if they’re real cool with a guy who committed or if they play well with them, so it just depends on what goes on after that.”

Drummond Narrows List To Five

Aug 10, 2011 7:20 PM

Andre Drummond is not expected to make a decision on where he will play college basketball until the spring, but he has narrowed his list to Connecticut, Kentucky, Georgetown, Louisville and West Virginia.

Drummond is a consensus top-two player in the incoming class of 2012.

Drummond could, however, turn professional for the 2012 NBA Draft.

“My plans for the immediate future are to continue to focus on academics and basketball, and to prepare myself for the future rigors I will be facing on the court and in life,” Drummond said in a release to Scout.com. “My decision beyond this coming year will not be made before next spring. Right now I am looking forward to getting to WMA, meeting my teammates and fellow students, and focusing on both academics and basketball.”
